This book is intended for coaches to develop strength and power the correct way. It may appear like many books by Westside, but it is completely designed for running any distance. It is a collection of 35 years of discovering the best method to build strength and improve power. Some methods are complex while others very simple but time proven. This book will explain problems that may have held your training methods back.

A running coach should train not only technique but also strength and power. Furthermore, learn how to train optimally, and prevent most injuries.

WSBB Books - Strength Manual For Running

Very Disappointing

The book isn't written by Louie himself, and is thoroughly repetitive. The author explains the same thing multiple times but in extremely vague detail and never gives the whole picture. I wanted to learn how to write a program and incorporate sleds and jumps but instead read the same thing about how if you want to increase running speed you do jumps, sleds, and become more explosive.

There is a lot of helpful information but no practical application or examples on how to execute. If the author trimmed the fat and didn't repeat the same things over and over the book would he nearly half the length.

The most frustrating part is the book could potentially have good content but the information doesn't pertain to the chapter titles and doesn't stick to one idea for more than a paragraph and doesn't give a full description of the solution to the problem.

I'm left more confused than I was before I started.
