We all want to be comfortable.
A sense of comfort is a valuable part of the relaxation and recovery that every athlete needs. When we feel comfort our brain chemistry is affected and feelings of calm, safety and well-being are much more easily generated. It is almost impossible to avoid wanting to be comfortable.
Beware of comfort.
Comfort will lead to breaking the laws of accommodation and adaptation.
Every piece of educational material available here teaches the need to avoid accommodation and adaptive reaction to training. From the Yee System, through all the Russian master coaches, and on to the Conjugate method the single strongest unifying lesson is the need for variation. Training must never be comfortable.
